PROGRAM INFORMATION

Designed for students ages 8-14.

Our Musical Workshop style programs allow students to explore and sharpen their singing, dancing, and acting skills in a positive, nurturing environment. Within the first few workshop sessions, students will learn a song and choreography to perform before the artistic team.

The process is a positive experience where students are given the tools they will need to feel successful on stage.

Once the show has been cast, each student will receive their placement in the cast and script. During the first weeks of rehearsal, students will rotate between the director, choreographer, and musical director to begin learning different aspects of the musical.

The stage choreography will be fun for students of all dance backgrounds and skill levels.

As the musical process develops, students will learn transition, cues, prop management, and other production skills necessary to put on a show.

DACO provides a positive environment for students to explore a complete theatrical production. From the rehearsal process to dress rehearsal to props and transitions, DACO encourages students to seize the responsibility of their roles and understand the importance of teamwork.

It is an excellent opportunity for creative students to have fun while working together to produce a professional show for the audience to enjoy!

ABOUT THE SHOW

A counselor has opened an office to see how various fairy tale characters are getting along.  He quickly discovers that nobody has lived ’happily ever after’ at all!  Sleeping Beauty will do nothing but nap, the Frog Prince refuses to give up his amphibian ways and nothing will pry Cinderella away from her beloved cinders.  The counselor sets about making everything right again, with equally disastrous results.  Added to the fractured fairy tale fun are five catchy musical numbers, cameo roles for a chorus of fairy tale characters, and plenty of silliness for everybody involved!
