As her love of dance grew, she dreamed of turning her dancing into a career. She furthered her dance training in college and earned her bachelor’s degree in performing arts with a specialization in dance from Oakland University. While she was a student, she was a member of the OU Repertory Dance Company, Oakland Dance Theater, and the OU Dance Team. She also received the Jakob Decker Dance Award for outstanding performance as a dance major. She has danced professionally with the Patterson Rythm Pace Dance Company and the Celtic Dance Theater of Arizona as a soloist in their touring production of “Fire & Grace.”

Jennifer has been teaching dance for over 25 years, and she has had her own successful Highland Dance studio for 13 years. Her students have competed and performed worldwide, winning many awards along the way, including three US National Championships. Four of her students were selected to perform in the prestigious “Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo,” a show that takes place at Edinburgh Castle in Scotland and runs during August.

In addition to Highland Dance, she teaches ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and tap. She has been a resident instructor at the Ohio Scottish Arts School at Oberlin College for the past eight years. She has also been a guest instructor for the British Association of Teachers of Dancing’s North American Conference for the past few years. Jennifer is an adjudicator for the International Thespian Society and a presenter at the Michigan Educational Theater Association State Festival each December. She has been the choreographer for Groves High School for over 18 years and has worked with several other schools and theater companies in southeast Michigan.
