DACO SPRING WORKSHOP: THE EVER AFTER~A MUSICAL
FOR YOUTH AGES 7-14

Non-Auditioned Program

PROGRAM INFORMATION

Our Musical Workshop style programs

offer students the chance to explore

and sharpen their singing, dancing

and acting skills in a positive,

nurturing environment.

Within the first few workshop sessions,

students will learn a song and choreography to perform before the artistic team.

The process is a positive experience where students are given the tools they will need to feel successful on stage.

Once the show has been cast, each student will receive their individual placement in the cast and script. During the first weeks of rehearsal, students will rotate between the director, choreographer and musical director to begin learning different aspects of the musical.

DACO

The stage choreography will be fun for students of all dance backgrounds and skill levels.

As the musical process develops, students will learn transition, cues, prop management and other production skills necessary to put on a show.

DACO provides a positive environment for students to explore a complete theatre production. From the rehearsal process to dress rehearsal, to props and transitions, DACO encourages students to seize the responsibility of their role and understand the importance of teamwork in the theatre.

It is a great opportunity for creative students to have fun while working together to produce a professional show for the audience to enjoy!

ABOUT THE SHOW

Is Ever After really as happy as everyone expected?

In a hilarious parody of daytime TV, host Sally Lizzie Jesse Donatello-Griffin wonders if time truly heals all wounds.  She invites Cinderella and her stepsisters to reconcile with each other, along with other, familiar fairy tale faces who tell their Ever After stories.

This hysterical fractured fairy tale has it all: a trash-talking clairvoyant mirror, an unfortunate prince who is turning slowly back into a frog and even Jiminy Cricket — now an occupational therapist and author of the book “My Life as Your Conscience.”

The musical is punctuated by questions from obnoxious studio audience members and great foot-tapping songs like ’Beauty Impaired’ and ’Dainty Do-Gooder’!

Social distancing will be practiced by students and staff during all sessions.

It is of utmost importance for students not to attend classes/workshops/rehearsals if they are not feeling well or show ANY symptoms of COVID 19.
