Welcome to daco's
new dance program

Dance is ALWAYS the answer!

Moving your bodies in rhythm is a great physical activity.

Dance improves flexibility, coordination, balance, range of motion, stamina, muscle tone, strength, and posture.

But physical fitness is just one of many benefits of dance.

Students learn to follow directions,

learn and remember steps (choreography), respond to music,

develop teamwork and build confidence.

Our Mission is to help our students build a strong technical foundation and inspire them on their pathway

to becoming well-rounded artists.

Dance Performance

AlissaBeth Morton

AlissaBeth Jane Morton is thrilled to return to DACO. When she was in middle school she portrayed the strict Miss Minchin in “A Little Princess”. She graduated college with a BFA in Musical Theatre with a minor in dance performance. After performing at numerous equity houses around the United States, AlissaBeth was a singer/dancer onboard Azamara Cruise Line. Here her cast won the Golden Ovation of the Sea Award for best entertainment, and AlissaBeth was asked to create her own solo shows to perform for the guests on top of the cast shows. She saw 6 of the 7 continents and loved her time there. After the pandemic hit she decided she needed a change of pace, and is currently enrolled in Oakland University for her Masters in Elementary Education! She adores teaching children, and cannot wait to make a difference in kids lives. “Children are the future!”

“Learn the craft of knowing how to open your heart and to turn on your creativity. There’s a light inside of you.” ~Judith Jamison

Social distancing will be practiced by students and staff during all sessions.

It is of utmost importance for students not to attend classes/workshops/rehearsals if they are not feeling well or show ANY symptoms of COVID 19.

Students ONLY will enter our studio courtyard area. Parents or caretakers will not be admitted into the studio courtyard in order to limit exposure. PARENTS/CARETAKERS—PLEASE REMAIN IN YOUR CAR WHEN DROPPING OFF OR PICKING UP YOUR CHILD.

Students will enter through the courtyard entrance. From the parking lot, take the sidewalk around the far left (west) of the main building.

At drop off, we will check each student's temperature. Anyone with a temperature of 100 or higher will not be allowed to enter the studio courtyard.
